Spring planting

Spring is here again so we are beginning our planting and gardening. We found this nice Ace tomato plant at the nursery and began our season. also our peach and apple trees are in bloom and our raspberry plants are beginning to sprout. I love Spring! This year we are going to have a watering system put in for our plants so they will have continual watering and have a better opportunity to grow even better!

Apple Pie

Today I made apple pie, one for us and one for Amanda. We both love pie so we are having a treat for us both. We will add ice cream and serve it for guests tomorrow!

Pinewood Derby

Kael and Grandpa with his trophy for winning his section in the pinewood derby competition! It was fun watching the races and seeing Kael win. We had chili, salad and cornbread afterwards!

New paint in our bedroom & other Changes

We are updating our master bedroom and chose this new color for the back wall and cream for the remaining walls. We really like it a lot.

Sleep Over with Paige

Paige needed a day with grammy and grandpa. We got her in the afternoon, for dinner and overnight and jumped in bed with us this morning. Then we had bacon and French toast. The rest of the morning was leisurely and enjoyable. Grandchildren are a blessing!

We have had a master bath which could only accommodate one person so we had the closet and bath gutted and a new bathroom 10 ft by 10 ft. installed. It was several weeks and lots of dust, but so worth it. We now have two sinks, lots of storage and a very nice tub/shower combo and laminate tile floors. We love the space, comfort and looks!

Tomato Vine

We pulled our tomato plant inside our sunroom when the freeze began and it has continued to produce tomatoes. Yesterday, I picked five off the vine and there are about ten left. It was a fun experiement!

Kael's Blue and Gold dinner cake

We were watching our grandchildren for a couple of days and Kael had a scout blue and gold dinner with an assignment to make and decorate a cake. He did a great job!

Rachel's handiwork

During the holidays,Rachel, our granddaughter decided to decorate Grandpa with some magnetic beads that connect together - this is the result of her efforts! She had a blast!

Confort of the

Tempur- pedic Bed

Our grandkids came over to visit this evening and tried out our new Temper-pedic bed which adjust and has a vibrator on each side. It was a thrill for all of them!

Christmas Cactus

We have had a Christmas Cactus since Michael was born. This one is a start from the original one and decided to bloom this year There is a bloom on each stem. We are excited that it really began on Christmas and continues to bloom

We had Rachel and Matt for a few days and over New years and Cal, Adon, Kael and Paige too for an overnighter for New Years. It was so fun and they all seems to have a blast together. it has been a tradition for a few year and they all look forward to the activities, food, food and celebration!!

We send you all a wish for a happy and peaceful New Year with good things for your families. We have been blessed to see some of our family and talk to all the others and spend more time with my Mom this year. We are so grateful for being blessed with a terrific family and appreciate their love and and friendship as well! Our Father in Heaven has been good to us in our aging years. There are aches from just getting older, but we appreciate that we can travel and enjoy our family and friends!

Nativity Collection

We enjoy the Nativity and have begun a collection for our home and have decorated our tree with nativity oraments. Here are a few of the sets which have been given to us by our children and friends.

Joseph Smith Building Displays

This tree goes clear to the ceiling chandelier - just stunning- there is a balcony all around where musical groups sang Christmas music - just beautiful!

I spent some time in the Joseph Smith Building where we had lunch in the Garden Room n the 10th floor, then sat and listened to high school choirs which were very good and viewed the huge tree in the center and the display of nativity sets. Very much got me in the mood for Christmas
