Matt & His Cake

Matt getting ready to blow out his candles on the pirate cake. He was so cute and enjoyed his cousins so much for the whole day!

Matt's Birthday & Visit with Brian & Deb's Family

Brian, Deb, Rachel & Matt came up to our home for a visit and birthday party for Matt. I made a pirate cake for Matt and really had fun finding stuff to put on the ship. Deb brought pirate decorations so the children had skull cups with hat and hats for the children too. They had such a good time together. We barbecued and had cake and ice cream.

RS Conference

We had a Relief Society Conference Today - It was so lovely and successful. The sisters were touched and appreciative of our speakers and slide show and delicious luncheon. It is a joy serving with these sisters. Dad was a wonderful help with setting up and taking down all the decorations and props. I could not have done it without him. Our Stake President was pleased with our effort. Overall, we all had an inspiring day!

Going to the Movies

Tomorrow, Malcolm and I are going to the movies to see one of our favorite actions movies. We love to be entertained by lots of action and amazing feats that the Indiana Jones series always include.

Cat Catcher

Malcolm helped Tyler catch a wild cat that has been harassing the entire neighborhood - had kitties in Amanda and Tyler's yard. It was a whole day effort until it was cornered and finally animal control came and got them.

Our Garden's Progress

The left picture is our raspberries. The other picture is lettuce, cucumbers and caulifower. We are eating lettuce and love it. We also have grapes planted on each end - Thompson seedless and Red flame.

Food Storage

We have been working hard to get our food storage up to date. These are pictures of our rolling can Storage, which stores #10 cans and other fruits and vegetables. We are feeling good about accomplishing this project we have been working on. We even have an inventory sheet to keep track of what we have and what we are using.

Mother's Day Celebration

We had fun today with Amanda's family and Gram Weston. Malcolm barbecued chicken an I made some cheesecakes with berries on top and some rolls, salad, baked potatoes and fruit. We enjoyed all the children and just visiting. It was a nice day too so we spent some time outside after dinner and watched our birds. The best thing was that I heard from every one of our eight children - what a blessing each of one them is. I love them dearly!

Mother's Day gift

We went to the bookstore yesterday on our outing and Malcolm got me this very special willow tree sculture of a couple. I love it and it is on our fireplace mantle.

Date Night

Malcolm and I spent the day together yesterday going to the temple, shopping at the bookstore, out to dinner (Yummy Old spaghetti Factory) then to a concert featuring the Celtic Woman. We sat next to a fun couple. She was from Ireland so we had an interesting visit with them. Of course I had to get a tee shirt! It was a wonderful day!

Bird Watching

We have taken an interest in the birds in our back yard and have put up two feeders to attract them. They are so cute and eat constantly. It is fun to just sit in the back yard and watch them. We are easy to entertain. You can click on the picture and see the birds close up.
