Grandma Eastland's Home

I am at my Mother's home in Spanish Fork. This has been our project week so we have done some house cleaning! We had a great time sharing memories as we looked through all the cupboards, drawers and shelves in the entire house. We kept the important items that Mom wanted and the rest were sent to trash or donation boxes.

We actually filled up 20 boxes of all types of craft, yarn, pictures, tape recorders, books, lamps, fabric and misc. How relieved Mom is to have all the stuff out of her home.
This is her Clean basement furnace room above and fruit room below - no more clutter!

Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple Tour

Oquirrh Temple

McMillian Historical Home

Pam, Patsy & Anita
Today, I joined my friend, Anita and her daughter to attend the open house at the Oquirrh Temple in an area new Riverdale. It is a large majestic temple and has three floors. There is a lot of stone from Egypt on the floors and beautiful accessories throughout. There was a very interesting film telling of the history of the area and some of the settlers of that mountain area. Pam McMullin who went with us shared with us some of her husband's family history of the church and community there. The reception temple at the conclusion was an awesome silk draped tent with crystal hanging lights & , beautiful windows and floor coverings and amazed us all. We enjoyed the self guided tour very much. We finished the afternoon eating at Cafe Rio - a new and delicious experience!

Our Plantings

Cherry Trees

Malcolm has been busy planting this week. We shopped for roses and found a Mr. Lincoln (Red), iceberg (white), & a yellow rose which he planted in front of our fence. In the back, Malcolm planted a Elberta Peach tree, and near the sidewalk I planted some petunias so we have quite a lot of color in the front of our home now. We also got some cherry trees given to us so they are planted on the outside of our fence. Malcolm has put in quite a week of digging and planting so he is a bit weary this evening, but very satisfied with the results!

A day with Mason & Carson

We had Mason and Carson today while Amanda took the boys and Paige on a cub scout hike at Zion's Camp. We had fun with them watching their favorite shows, working in the garden & Grandpa taking them to the park. They are having a pretzel snack in these pictures. They both took good naps after lunch. They were lots of fun.

New Grandbaby - Grant

Dan and Kristina with their family and new baby Grant Matthew. We are so happy for their new son and for the safe delivery! Dan and Kristina are such great parents. We miss them, but are grateful for computers, pictures and phone calls. Congratulations, Dan and Kristina! We love you all!

With the birth of a new grandbaby, I am amazed by the miracle of it all and am sharing these thoughts too.

"As for me, I know nothing else but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach just in the edge of the water,
Or stand under the trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love,
Or sleep in bed at night with the one I love,
Or watch honey bees busy around the hive of a summer forenoon...
Or the wonderfulness of the sundown,
Or of stars shining so quiet and bright,
Or the exquisite delicate thin curve of the new moon in spring...
What stranger miracles are there? "

8th Grade Graduation for Nicole

Malcolm and I took Paige with us and drove to Redding for Nicole's 8th grad graduation. We took lots of snacks, and activities for Paige and she was a darling. We stopped in Red Bluff and had lunch at Burger King, then on to Redding. Nicole was busy getting her hair and nails done, thanks to her Mom. Val & Nicole also put some press on nails on Paige. Paige also had so much fun - played ball, drawing and lots of other activities with Jon. They were pals today. We all had some dinner and went to the graduation ceremonies. After graduation we drove home and tucked Paige into bed, then we had a huge lightning and thunder storm with really heavy driving rain. It lasted only about 15 minutes. It's been a full day!
