New Years Eve

We invited Tyler and Amanda and our grandchildren over for dinner and for some New Years Eve fun. We ate, then had some sparkling cider. Mason was determined to try it along with the rest of the gang. The three oldest boys are going to try to stay up until the New Year, then spend the night with us. This is a tradition we started last year! Lots of fun and French Toast for breakfast in the morning!

Christmas Day

Our children were very good to us - digital Photo frames, clothes jewelry, CD's, gourmet food, new scissors, spending money & great family pictures, and a super family calendar!! I keep an updated set of photos in grammy corner in our kitchen which encircle our family genealogy tree. Thank you to our children and parents!! We love you! We spent the day visiting and eating left over Christmas Eve dinner. We had a friend join us Gram Weston & Amanda, Tyler and their children. We missed kathi this year as she was snowed in in Seattle!

Christmas Eve

Shirts - gifts from Todd & Billie from Tillamook cheese country ( Patsy's says Sharp and Malcolm's says Naturally Aged)
We have a tradition of having whoever can come to our home for Christmas Eve ( Val, Mike, Brian, Dan, Amanda and families this year) - this way all of our children can be home with their children for Christmas morning. It has worked well for many years and everyone seems to enjoy the dinner and the last couple of years there is a white elephant gift exchange which brings lots of excitement and fun for everyone. The girls have organized it and made up the rules...it was so much fun watching the laughter, antics and fun they all have. We had a delicious ham, tri tip, sour cream potatoes, fruit salad, green salad, rolls and lots of Christmas goodies. Oh, and the family favorite is orange/pineapple/banana crush with a squirt of 7 up. We took the food down to Amanda's where there was more room to eat this year - thanks to Tyler and Amanda. Everyone contributes to the food so it is just wonderful and delicious! Thank you to all of our children for their help, support and yummy contributions! We know it was a long ride for each family, but we are so grateful for your willingness to travel to our home. We are blessed and appreciative for our very special children, their spouses and our grandchildren. We missed Todd, Amy and Russ and their families who could not join us, but talked on the phone to them. We love you all and hope for a wonderful and successful new year for each of you!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends! We cherish this season of the Savior when many are moved to think of others and make life a little sweeter....that is one of the best tributes to our Jesus Christ. http://www.youtube.com/v/Z_ypUnnqr8Y&autoplay=0 - Enjoy this video which was sent to me by a good friend. Friends & Omelets

We enjoyed a wonderful brunch with our friends, Jack and Mary today. We wanted to do something special and different so we made ziplock omelets. It is really fun because we had dishes with cheese, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, chives, bacon, etc. You put two eggs in a freezer ziplock bag, shake it and add whatever you like and shake it again..then make certain the air is out, then put in a pot of boiling water for 13 minutes. It turns out perfect. Anyway, we had a wonderful morning and shared family pictures, genealogy info, Christmas goodies and just had a great day with them.

Spanish Christmas carol

We attended the ward Christmas party Friday evening with dinner and entertainment. One of the numbers was this mens group that our son-in-law Tyler sang with. They sang a Christmas carol in Spanish. It was so good! Thanks to Nikki for the photo..

New Cast

Yesterday, Malcolm & I made our journey to Martinez to have my broken leg checked. It is healing, but needed a new cast for another month. It was a long day but in 2 hours, we saw the Dr. twice, got X-rays and a new cast installed! We were both weary last night, but attended our ward Christmas dinner afterwards! Malcolm is a trooper for taking me all over and being an excellent nurse! My children and grandchildren will begin a new autograph project now ...that part has been fun!

Christmas Decor

These snowbabies are special gifts from family and friends that have been collected over the years and remind me of Alaska!

These Smowmen light up at night & grandkids love them.
It is always so fun to decorate for Christmas Holidays. However, this year we are doing less...some of our favorites are snowmen and snowbabies.
