Canning Tomatoes

I canned Salsa and chili sauce today with some tomatoes given to us by our friends Anne and Lowell. It was hot, but worth it.

Some of our family were able to go to Vacaville for Dan & Kristina's new baby son, Grant's blessing. We all attended the singles ward where Tom Phillippi is the Bishop. Amanda &Tyler, Mike, Annette, Dan & Kristina, the Phillippi family and Dad and I attended. We had a delicious lunch at the Phillippi's after and socialized for several hours and caught up on all the families activities and just had fun taking turns holding Grant and generally just enjoying each others company. The picture below is only the ones we could gather for a picture.

4th Activities

We got together with Tyler and Amanda for dinner and put on our 4th of July T-shirts. We all got some sparklers and fireworks to do later tonight on our street. Several of the families on our street gather at 9:00 PM to shoot off fireworks.

Today in our newspaper, there was this picture of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. As I reflected on this picture and the Declaration of Independence, I thought how blessed we are to live in this free land. I know there have been some unfortunate things going on in our country, but still we have the best land in the world and I am thankful to be privileged to live here and say what I wish, worship as I please and enjoy the ability to work, travel, have a home and enjoy our family!
