Aspen Trees

In Relief Society, we have been planning a humanitarian activity making quilts, caps, school kits and hygiene kits. When we visited each Relief Society to encourage attendance, we shared a story about the Aspen tree and how it begins from the roots instead of seeds because the seeds don't stay nourished long enough to sprout. They are amazing trees as an entire grove may actually be one large organism. Even if they are burned above ground, the root system is strong and will sprout soon after. Our lives can be like the roots of these trees as we give strength to others through giving and we help each other get through the storms of life. Perhaps our giving will encourage those who have been hit by awful storms to resprout their hope an faith. It is so satisfying to be involved in such a wonderful project!
